Do You Still Believe? Apple TV+ Hopes You’re In The Stands As ‘Ted Lasso’ Kicks Off Its Third Season This March
Football is back, baby.
No, not NFL football – the Super Bowl concluded their season last weekend. We’re talking Premiere League Football, as seen on the Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso.
The two-time Emmy winner for best comedy series will roll out its 12-episode season weekly starting March 15th. This year, the tension will mainly come from former equipment manager Nate (Nick Mohammed), who has left Richmond to work for the enemy, Rupert, aka Rebecca’s slimy ex. The official description of season 3 reads as follows:
“In Season 3, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate, now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United,” reads the synopsis. “In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.”

Apple will release an episode a week, qualifying the 12-episode season for Emmy consideration. Apple has not confirmed if this is the last season for the show, but creator Bill Lawrence has said that this story has a three-season arc.
The critically acclaimed series has won multiple awards Emmy Awards for outstanding comedy series and outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for Sudeikis, who along with Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Hunt developed the show based on a character Sudeikis played in a series of NBC Sports Premier League promos. They executive produce the Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television series with Bill Wrubel; Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Lawrence’s Doozer Productions
