From two wings to Two-Face: after playing Supernatural‘s resident angel Castiel for 12 seasons, Misha Collins is returning to The CW, joining the Gotham Knights pilot as Harvey Dent, aka the villain Two-Face.

Harvey Dent is Gotham’s District Attorney, whose quest for justice ironically transforms him into one of Gotham’s most feared supervillains, Two-Face.

Gotham Knighs is written by Batwoman scribes Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux and Natalie Abrams, and according to the logline, “picks up in the aftermath of Bruce Wayne’s murder, with his rebellious adopted son forging an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader.

As the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights.”

Collins announced the casting on his Twitter feed today, saying that he “asked if my version of the character could be wearing a beige trench coat over the grey suit. (I’m just not sure I’ll be comfortable in front of the camera without one.)

Collins joins previously announced series regulars Fallon Smythe, Tyler DiChiara, Oscar Morgan, Olivia Rose Keegan and Navia Robinson. Pilots are reviewed by the network before a decision is made to pick them up, so there’s no telling yet if the show will go to series, or when it will premiere.
