It’s almost good news for Marvel fans.

After Netflix’s suite of original character-driven shows – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, along with the show that combined all four, The Defenders – depart the streaming service at the end of this month, they will be moving to Disney+. Just not all over the globe. Those shows aired with new episodes on Netflix from 2015 – 2019.

Disney has officially confirmed that all seasons of the Marvel Netflix along with all seasons of The Punisher, shows will premiere on Disney+ on March 16th, 2022. However, this news is from a press release issued by Disney+ Canada. The shows will be seen on their STAR streamer, which typically shows titles that in the States would go to Hulu. Whether or not the Netflix Marvel shows will turn up on Disney+ domestically is still unconfirmed.

At least one character from those shows has crossed over into the MCU, when Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) was hired by Peter Parker when he encountered legal troubles in Spider-Man: No Way Home, so by extension all characters should be considered part of the MCU, which means that at least some of them could be renewed for more episodes.

As the US version of Disney+ tends to run only family-friendly shows, there still is a chance that if the Netflix shows are moving to one of their platforms, it will be the more adult-oriented Hulu. Disney+ became the home of new MCU television projects like WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye last year.
