No, they’re not having fun yet.

In the new trailer for Starz’ quirky comedy Party Down, most of the cater waiters who served up hors d’oeuvres and witty remarks in equal measure back when the show first aired are returning, including Henry Pollard (Adam Scott), Constance Carmell (Jane Lynch), Roman DeBeers (Martin Starr), Kyle Bradway (Ryan Hansen), and Lydia Dunfree (Megan Mullally). Lizzy Caplan won’t be clocking in to her role as Casey Klein due to scheduling conflicts, but Garner may be stepping in as Henry’s love interest this season.

The show, about a Los Angeles-based catering crew staffed by people who would rather be doing anything else, will also feature new characters played by Jennifer Garner, Tyrel Jackson Williams, and Zoë Chao, plus James Marsden joins the cast as a recurring guest star. Starz announced back in 2021 that it was reviving the show.

In the trailer, we see that the Party Down chief, Ron Donald (Ken Marino), is sleeping (and maybe living) in the catering van, when he gets a call that leads him to get the old gang back together for a big job in the Hollywood Hills.

Henry, a failed actor known only for a cheesy line in a beer commerical, is on the brink of an existential crisis after donning the signature pink bowtie once again. “This is now how I envisioned my 40’s,” he says, grimly.

Guest stars this season will include Quinta Brunson, Nick Offerman, Dan Bakkedahl, Liv Hewson, Fran Kranz, Ki Hong Lee, Lyric Lewis, Bobby Moynihan, Judy Reyes, and Calum Worthy. Scott will executive produce along with Rob Thomas, John Enbom, Paul Rudd and Dan Etheridge.

The series amassed a cult following of dedicated fans, and concluded its original two-season run in June of 2010. Season three will have six episodes, and premieres at midnight on February 24th on Starz.
