Liars and Murderers, All: A New Batch of Guest Stars Have Been Revealed for Second Season of ‘Poker Face’.
A new group of lying liars who lie have been cast for the second series of the mystery drama Poker Face.
The Emmy Award-winning series Poker Face, streaming on Peacock, has revealed some of the Season 2 guest stars and they include Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul, Parish), Katie Holmes (Our Town, Ray Donovan), Gaby Hoffman (Transparent, Eric) and Kumail Nanjiani (Welcome to Chippendales, Only Murders in the Building).
Poker Face stars Natasha Lyonne as a kind of 21st-century Columbo in the mystery-of-the-week series. Lyonne plays Charlie, who isn’t a cop, but she can always tell when someone is lying. In the first season of the series, Charlie was on the run and in hiding, but wherever she stopped, she had the good fortune (or misfortune) to stumble onto a murder/coverup that she couldn’t help but solve.
Among the first season celeb guest stars were Adrien Brody, Ron Perlman, Chloë Sevigny, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Stephanie Hsu, Clea DuVall, Dascha Polanco, Hong Chau, Megan Suri, Danielle Macdonald, Judith Light, Ellen Barkin, Tim Meadows, Jameela Jamil, Charles Melton, Rowan Blanchard and Rhea Perlman.
Poker Face was created by Rian Johnson (Knives Out), who serves as writer, director and Executive Producer. Tony Tost is the show runner and produces alongside Lyonne, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman and Lilla Zuckerman.
The show, which stylistically resembles a 1970s made-for-television mystery movie, received four Emmy nominations for its first season, including a nod for best actress in a comedy series for Lyonne. Judith Light did pick up an Emmy for her guest performance. Production for the second season is in progress.
