MTV’s Teen Wolf will howl again.

Four years after it signed off the air, the popular series will return, this time in movie form, on Paramount+.

The news was announced by Tyler Posey, who starred in the show as Scott McCall. Posey confirmed the news on Instagram on Friday, the anniversary of the day the last episode of the series aired on MTV.

“Sup,” Posey, 29, wrote in the caption of a video showcasing online messages from fans asking for the return of the show.

The video then cut to text that read, “A wolf howls to signal its location to the rest of the pack. We’ve heard your howls and we’re howling back…” The tease then showed a blue jeep—identical to the one owned by Dylan O’Brian’s Stiles Stilinski on the show— and a wolf with red eyes howling.

The film is one part of an overall deal the show’s creator, Jeff Davis made with MTV Entertainment Studios. Davis’ multi-year deal calls for him to write and executive produce the film, with talks currently underway with original series cast members to return. The news comes on the four year anniversary of the original Teen Wolf finale on MTV.

In addition to the Teen Wolf movie, Davis will also develop a new series for the streamer based on Edo Van Belkom’s Wolf Pack books, with Davis serving as showrunner on that series. He’s also producing a live action Aeon Flux remake.

Loosely based on the 1985 Michael J. Fox film of the same name, Teen Wolf premiered on MTV on June 5, 2011, running for a total of 100 episodes across six seasons and concluding in 2017. Davis served as executive producer and showrunner on Teen Wolf throughout its run.

Posey has yet to be confirmed to return, but the description of the movie does mention his character. Variety reports the plot involves a “terrifying evil” emerging in the town of Beacon Hills. “The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes and every other shapeshifter in the night,” the synopsis reads. “But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.”

Tyler Posey starred as McCall in the original series, and the cast also featured Dylan O’Brien, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hoechlin (now The CW’s Superman), Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, and Arden Cho. In December, the full series will be available to stream on Paramount Plus.
