It’s a phrase that has kicked off many a news report (and meme): “Florida Man….”

And you can finish that sentence any number of ways, from “gets arrested for eating faces” to “used private plane to draw giant radar penis.” Now Netflix is presenting a limited series that dramatizes the phenomenon, even down to the title.

Florida Man stars Golden Globe nominee Edgar Ramírez as Mike Valentine who unwillingly returns back home to Florida to investigate a case involving a Philadelphia mobster’s runaway girlfriend. What should have been an easy case quickly hits a downward spiral in the “sunny place for shady people.”

“I have to go to Florida, so I can leave Florida,” Mike says in the trailer.

Ramírez was most recently seen in Jungle Cruise and The 355 and will appear later this year in the film adaptation of the Borderlands video game franchise.

Described by Netflix as “a wild odyssey into a sunny place for shady people,” the limited drama also stars Anthony LaPaglia, Abbey Lee, Otmara Marrero, Lex Scott Davis, Emory Cohen, Clark Gregg, Isaiah Johnson, Paul Schneider, and Lauren Buglioli.

The show was created and executive produced by Donald Todd (This Is Us), who is also serving as the showrunner. Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan executive produced the series.

The miniseries will be available for streaming on April 13th.
