Space Madness: In ‘Constellation’, Noomi Rapace Returns from Space to An Earth Unlike the One She Remembers
In Constellation, Jo has come unstuck from reality – or has she?
The new sci-fi mystery series from Apple TV+ follows an astronaut, played by Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), who returns to Earth after an outer space disaster, only to find the planet she landed on is slightly off kilter.
The which premieres in February, follows “Jo — an astronaut who returns to Earth after a disaster in space — only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be missing. The action-packed space adventure is an exploration of the dark edges of human psychology, and one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and recover all that she has lost.”
In the trailer, Jo, who has a young daughter, must determine if she’s hallucinating, if she’s being toyed with by an alien intelligence, or if she somehow found her way into some alternate universe somewhat, but not exactly like the one she remembers.
Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul‘s Jonathan Banks also stars in the program written by Peter Harness (War of the Worlds) and directed by Michelle MacLaren, who won two Emmy awards for her work as a producer on Breaking Bad. The show was created by Harness, who has written for Doctor Who.
The eight-part series also stars James D’Arcy (Oppenheimer), Julian Looman (Emily in Paris), William Catlett (A Thousand and One), Barbara Sukowa (Voyager), and introduces Rosie and Davina Coleman as Alice. The project is produced by Turbine Studios and Haut et Court TV.
