(SPOILERS) ‘The Bachelor’ Ladies are Bowled Over By a Blast from the Past
As predicted last week, this episode opens up with the continuation of Jessenia and MJ’s confrontation with Matt.
Matt takes Jessenia first and they go to another room and discuss the situation at hand. Jessenia says that MJ lied straight to his face and that she is the biggest instigator in the house.
Next, Matt takes MJ and they talk. MJ says she is upset that her character is being put into question. Matt says that he has never seen the mean side of MJ and can’t believe these things are being said about her.
Ultimately, Matt has to make a decision on who to send home and who to keep as there is only one rose to hand out to the two of them. He ends up sending MJ home which means that Jessenia gets the rose.
The rest of the women arrive and see there is no rose on the table and they gather that a rose was handed out but do not know who got it. Jessenia eventually comes in holding the rose to join them.
As they are sitting there waiting for the cocktail party to begin, Chris comes in and says that Matt is overwhelmed and exhausted from the night already and that it will just go straight into the rose ceremony.
All of the girls are upset and Serena C calls out Katie and tells her this is all her fault because she was the one who brought up the bullying to Matt, which is what is causing Matt all of this stress and exhaustion.
The rose ceremony begins and there will be three women who will be sent home. Once it comes down to it, the three women going home are Magi, Catalina, and Ryan.
The next morning comes and Chris comes in with the date card for the one-on-one and the name on the card is for Pieper.
Katie then says she is waiting for the right time when Matt will present her with her one-on-one date and she is being patient about it.
The night before was still not sitting right with Serena C, so she goes and finds Katie and they get into a heated argument. Katie eventually walks away from the conversation.
We then see a minivan pull up to the gates of the hotel and it is Heather Martin from Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor.
She asks the gate attendant to call for Chris and let him know she is here. Chris eventually comes out and asks why she is here and she explains that one of her friends convinced her to come because that friend thinks that Heather is the perfect match for Matt and she wants to meet him to see if it is true.
Chris tells Heather it is not up to him and he has to go talk to lots of other people to even see if she is allowed on the property and to meet Matt. She does get permission and she starts her quarantining process.
Pieper gets picked up for her date and as they arrive, Matt hands her a lantern because it is very dark out. She has no clue what is going on and what the date consists of.
They walk up to a light switch and Matt tells her to turn it on. Once she does, they are lit up with lights from a carnival put on for the two of them with rides and games.
The dinner portion of the date arrives and Pieper begins to open up about her family life and how she was raised. She later tells Matt that she is falling in love with him. She receives the date rose.
Nine of the women are on the group date and they are Brie, Kit, Rachael, Michelle, Jessenia, Serena P, Abigail, Chelsea, and Serena C. This means that Katie has the other one-on-one date with Matt.
As the women arrive to the group date, Matt is there to greet them and tells them he has something fun in store and they find out they will be bowling.
Of course there’s a catch. The date is going along and Chris walks in and says the women will split up into two teams and the team who wins will get to spend the after party with Matt while the rest of them will have to go back to the hotel.
Out of the two teams, the pink team won which meant the blue team had to leave.
The women from the blue team are sitting around in the lobby and we are greeted by Chris again and he tells them that Matt wants to get all the time he can with the girls so the blue team is welcomed to the after party of the date.
Woman by woman, Matt is talking to them and he ends up handing out the group date rose to Michelle. Chelsea is a little upset because she truly thought she was going to receive it because she was vulnerable with him.
Katie arrives for her one-on-one date and Matt tells her that he has a secret for her. He says that his good friend Tyler Cameron, from Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, is there and they are going to be pranking him.
Tyler thinks he is just getting a normal massage, but Matt has hired a masseuse and he and Katie will be in her ear telling her what to do and say to Tyler.
Eventually, Matt and Katie walk into the room where the massage is taking place and Matt takes over. Tyler gets suspicious and looks up and realizes Matt is massaging him. They all laugh and it goes into the dinner portion of the date.
At dinner, Matt wants to figure out if there is a romantic relationship between him and Katie.
The night goes on and Matt picks up the rose and tells Katie she is great but he cannot give her the rose because his relationships with the other women have progressed farther than theirs.
It is now time for the cocktail party and rose ceremony and the girls are very confident that it will be an easy, calm night because there is no drama happening and there aren’t many of them left. Little do they know that trouble is on the horizon.
Pieper and Matt are talking and in walks Heather to interrupt them. Matt just bursts out into laughter and can’t believe what he is seeing. Pieper ends up leaving because Matt says he would like to talk to Heather.
Pieper comes out and asks who she was and the girls talk about it and become very mad and upset that another woman is here this far into the journey.
Next week, we see lots of tears and chaos as everyone is trying to fight for Matt’s heart just before hometowns.
