‘Totally’ Chilling: First Look at Kiernan Shipka’s Post-‘Sabrina’ Slasher Comedy for Amazon Prime
Kiernan Shipka has found life beyond The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – but its still chilling.
Monday, Prime Video unveiled new images from Totally Killer, a new time-travel/slasher/comedy starring the former star of Sabrina. The movie premieres on Prime on October 6th.
The film comes from Blumhouse Television, part of a 2019 with the streamer. The film is about the return of the infamous “Sweet Sixteen Killer” on Halloween night, 35 years after their shocking murder of three teens, to claim a fourth victim. 17-year-old Jamie (Shipka) ignores her overprotective mom’s (Julie Bowen) warning and comes face-to-face with the masked maniac and while running for her life, she accidentally time travels back to 1987, the year of the original killings. She’s then forced to navigate the unfamiliar and outrageous culture of the 1980s, teaming up with a teenage version of her mom (Olivia Holt) to take down the killer once and for all, and then try to return to her own time.
The cast includes Kelcey Mawema as Jamie’s friend Amelia, Lochlyn Munro as Adult Blake, Charlie Gillespie as Teen Blake, Stephi Chin-Salvo as Marisa Song, Anna Diaz as Heather Hernandez, Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar as Teen Randy Finkle, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson as Teen Lauren, Ella Choi as Teen Kara Molnar, Liana Liberato as Tiffany Clark, Nathaniel Appiah as Teen Doug Summers, and Jonathan Potts as Adult Chris Dubusage. Always Be My Maybe‘s Randall Park playing Sheriff Dennis Lim.
Totally Killer was directed by Nahnatchka Khan (Always Be My Maybe, Young Rock), and was written by David Matalon, Sasha Perl-Raver and Jen D’Angelo.
Jason Blum produced for Blumhouse along with Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath under their Divide/Conquer banner. The executive producers are Khan and Chloe Yellin for Fierce Baby Productions.
