These contestants aren’t naked and afraid any more, but are they survivors?

The CW network has partnered with Roku to produce a reality competition series pitting 17 former contestants from shows like Survivor, Naked and Afraid and Alone to, well, Fight to Survive 25 days on a remote tropical island for a chance to win $250,000.

The eight-episode series will be hosted by Akbar Gbaja-Biamila of American Ninja Warrior and pit the cast against each other in what’s being called “one of the most intense survival of the fittest competitions ever televised, the competitors battle one another for essential tools and resources in the fight to survive.”

The series will premiere Thursday, August 10th on The CW. After the series finishes its run on broadcast television, all episodes will then be available to stream on The Roku Channel and The CW App. Streaming will be available on September 29th, the day after the broadcast finale. The series is one of three ordered by Roku for a 2023 launch. Execs from both networks issued a joint press release concerning their combined efforts.
