Among Marvel’s many unveilings during their San Diego Comic Con panels regarding their upcoming projects for Phase 5 and and Phase 6, was the title drop and details on the revival of Daredevil, a show created by and on Netflix until its cancellation after three seasons. The Netflix episodes have now been moved to Disney+.

The new series is titled Daredevil: Born Again, and so far, not much is known about this series and how it will connect to Netflix’s series – whether it will be a direct continuation or some kind of soft reboot. What is known is that Charlie Cox will return to reprise the role of Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, which shouldn’t be a surprise. The actor appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and will be in the upcoming She-Hulk and Echo Disney+ series. The writers of the Netflix Daredevil are not slated to return however, leaving many fans lacking in faith on how it will be.

Vincent D’Onofrio will also reprise his role as the villainous Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. This also shouldn’t be shocking as he appeared in Hawkeye and will join Cox in the Echo series. It has not however been announced if Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll will return as their characters Foggy Nelson and Karen Page respectively, two main characters of the Daredevil series.

The Netflix series left off with Kingpin put back in prison, accepting his defeat at the hands of Matt Murdock. Matt had finally gotten his friendship with Foggy and Karen back in a good place, and there was a teaser for one of Daredevil’s main enemies Bullseye to appear in the now-since cancelled season four. It is unclear how many, if any, of these plot lines will be used in the new series, as too much time may have passed if they’re going to place the series in the MCU timeline as announced Saturday.

With its characters appearing in a few different movies and shows, both past and upcoming over these next few years, it’s really unknown how the new series will play out. Daredevil: Born Again will air in Spring 2024 with an eighteen episode season, on Disney+.
