Buying a new house is fraught with so many unexpected problems like nosy neighbors, expensive repairs, taxes, and intrusive HOA rules.

But for Jenny and Lucas, who just bought their first house, that’s nothing compared to the real-life monsters on the block in the upcoming horror comedy Hold the Fort.

Hold the Fort follows “Lucas (Chris Mayers) and Jenny (Haley Leary), [who] think their life is finally coming together when the couple become homeowners. Little do they know that their new house comes with a big catch. Lucas and Jenny soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when they become trapped in a battle between their Homeowners Association and an onslaught of monsters from hell. The horror-comedy takes the timely concern of homeownership and wraps this up in an entertaining, action-packed thrill ride.”

Although the premise of the movie makes it seem like the HOA and the monsters from hell are to be equally feared, the trailer hints that the bad rap associated with HOAs could be overblown – at least in this movie.

In the teaser trailer, Lucas confesses to another HOA member that he heard such associations are evil. The man chuckles and says, “Evil? We’re not evil. We fight evil!”

Of the film, Bagley has stated that, “my goal with this film was to make a hilarious, fast-paced thrill ride while also telling a great story with heart. Hopefully, through all the blood, laughs, fights, and gags, you leave the film feeling inspired to tackle whatever life throws at you. Or, at the very least, you have a great time!”

Julian Smith, Mark Asworth, Levi Burdick, and Michelle I Lamb also star in the film, which will make its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival on July 16th before hitting theaters.
