Hold onto your fortune cookies, folks! Disney has just dropped the first teaser trailer for Freakier Friday, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2003 body-swap comedy classic. Our favorite mother-daughter duo, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, are back as Tess and Anna Coleman, ready to swap not just bodies but entire generations this time around.

The teaser opens with a psychic ominously revealing that Tess and Anna’s “lifelines have intersected before,” setting the stage for another round of identity-swapping chaos. But this isn’t just a rehash of the original; the sequel ups the ante by introducing Anna’s daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter into the mix, making it a multi-generational body swap extravaganza.

Fans of the original will be thrilled to see the return of Anna’s band, Pink Slip, promising a nostalgic trip down early 2000s memory lane. And let’s not forget the heartthrob of yesteryear, Chad Michael Murray, who makes a “sexy entrance” on a motorcycle, reprising his role as Jake.

Directed by Nisha Ganatra, Freakier Friday also brings back original cast members Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. New additions to the cast include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons, adding fresh faces to this beloved franchise.

The film is slated for a theatrical release on August 8th, 2025, so mark your calendars. If the teaser is any indication, Freakier Friday promises to deliver the same heartwarming comedy with a modern twist, making it a must-watch for both new audiences and fans of the original.

Check out the teaser below and get ready to relive the body-swapping hilarity that made us all fall in love with the Colemans over two decades ago.
