Not Again: Trailer for Peacock’s ‘The Paper’ Shows Oscar Targeted by a Documentary Crew Once More
The first trailer for The Paper, a sequel to/continuation of the hit sitcom The Office, dropped and boy, Oscar is not happy to be the target of yet another documentary crew.
Oscar Martinez, played by Oscar Nuñez, is the sole character linking the two shows together. The Office was famously set at Dunder-Mifflin, a paper products sales company located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. That show’s sort-of sequel is set in Toledo, Ohio at a tabloid paper called the Toledo Truth-Teller.
Oscar did his time in front of the cameras for nine seasons in Scranton, and resorts to dropping f-bombs to make his footage unusable.

The new series, which will be available only on streaming service Peacock, centers around Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) who finds himself the Truth-Teller’s new editor-in-chief, but he’s fighting an uphill battle. Not only is now not exactly the best time to begin a career in newspaper journalism, Ned learns no one on staff has worked at a real paper before, though some have tweeted and texted.
The Paper, a mockumentary from Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, will drop its first four episodes on September 4th. Two new episodes will follow every Thursday through September 25th. Aside from Gleeson and Nunez, the rest of the cast include Chelsea Frei as Mare, who looks to be a potential love interest for Ned, as well as Sabrina Impacciatore as Esmeralda, Duane Shepard Sr. as Barry, Ramona Young as Nicole, Melvin Gregg as Detrick, Gbemisola Ikumelo as Adelola, Alex Edelman as Adam, and Eric Rahill as Travis.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant — who created the original British version of The Office — are on board as executive producers on The Paper. Only one season of the show is planned, but if the series proves successful, there could be more.
