Spy Parents: Kerry Washington and Omar Sy Need Reliable Daycare When Hunted by Their Former Agency
‘Take your kid to work day’ poses logistical problems when your job involves espionage for a shadowy underground agency.
That’s the problem faced by parents and former agents Kerry Washington and Omar Sy when they try to leave the spy world for suburbia in Shadow Force, a new film from Lionsgate coming to theaters in May.
The only rule of that super secret agency is that no one leaves the organization alive.
The film’s official description reads, “Kyrah (Washington) and Isaac (Sy) were once the leaders of a multinational special forces group called Shadow Force. They broke the rules by falling in love, and in order to protect their son, they go underground. With a large bounty on their heads, and the vengeful Shadow Force hot on their trail, one family’s fight becomes all-out war.”
Kyrah and Isaac’s motto is “family over everything,” though, and they decide they need to call in theirs for help.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Cliff “Method Man” Smith play Kyrah and Isaac’s only allies, against the Shadow Force head (Mark Strong) out for their heads. Their friends help by doubling their firepower even as their being introduced to their young son as auntie and uncle.
The stakes, already high, spiral out of control when Strong’s character kidnaps their son (Jahleel Kamara) in an attempt to force them to capitulate.

Shadow Force is directed by Joe Carnahan, who co-wrote the screenplay with Leon Chills. Washington serves as producer, alongside Pilar Savone, Stephen “Dr.” Love and Sterling K. Brown.
Shadow Force will hit theaters with a bang on May 2nd.
