Disney+ is sending you some “Good Vibrations” this May.

The Beach Boys, a new film celebrating the legendary California fivesome whose sun-and-surf pop ditties gave way to revolutionary soundscapes, telling the story of humble beginnings, massive success, and the turmoil that followed, through never-before-seen footage and all-new interviews with The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston, among others.

The Beach Boys was directed by Frank Marshall and written by Mark Monroe. It also features interviews with Carl and Dennis Wilson, in their own words, plus a new interview with Blondie Chaplin and audio from Ricky Fataar, who for a time played with the band.

The Beach Boys’ original lineup consisted of the three teenaged Wilson brothers: Brian, Carl, and Dennis, their cousin Mike Love, and school friend Al Jardine. They began playing together in high school in the late 50s and by 1962 had signed a seven-year contract with Capitol Records.

The movie’s trailer shows the band’s their rivalry with The Beatles, how Brian Wilson took the band’s sound into new places, and the forces that tore the band apart on their rise to the top.

Also featured on the documentary are interviews with Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder and Don Was.
