Shudder’s next installment of their found-footage anthology series V/H/S will have a killer beat.

Titled V/H/S/Mixtape, the film will have a spooky season debut on October 9th, and features segments from directors Ernest Dickerson (Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight), RZA (The Man with the Iron Fists), David Moreau (Mads), and Renee Zhan (O Black Hole!), whose segment includes original creations from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. This is the first time the Creature Shop and V/H/S producers have collaborated.

In addition to the horror segments, the movie will feature musical interludes from musician and director Flying Lotus, Tobias Forge (in his directing debut), and the theatrically-minded band GWAR will make an appearance.

V/H/S/Mixtape “cranks the signature found-footage horror up to eleven with an electrifying new anthology where music and sound become the source of terror. United by a theme that explores the power of music, rhythm, and audio to haunt, possess, and destroy, the film blends cosmic horror, psychological suspense, outrageous splatter, and groundbreaking practical effects into one unforgettable mixtape of nightmares,” according to the film’s official description.

The V/H/S series premiered in 2012. Last October, Shudder released an installment called V/H/S Halloween to great success: it became the most watched film premiere on the streamer that year. The year before that, V/H/S Beyond was released. Past titles include V/H/S: Viral, V/H/S/94, V/H/S/99 and V/H/S/85. Adam Wingard helmed the first movie and past segment directors include Ti West, Radio Silence, Scott Derrickson and Joe Swanberg.

Josh Goldbloom, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, Michael Schreiber, and Brad Miska are producing for Shudder. No theatrical release has been announced.
