Beginning of the End: ‘Supernatural’ Launches First of Final Seven Episodes
After fifteen years, 327 episodes, countless monsters, two networks and one pandemic-related delay, Supernatural is finally ending. Seven episodes, originally scheduled to air last spring, are finally slated to air starting Thursday, October 8th on The CW Network.
Stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (Sam and Dean Winchester) and other cast and crew had to quarantine in British Columbia in order to film the last two episodes, but finally, the long-awaited run up to the season finale is beginning.
The last big bad the Winchester brothers is facing is none other than God Himself, (Rob Benedict) and the series finale will deliver an apocalyptic final battle to save us all. But first, a little of what Supernatural does best: humor.
Sam and Dean find a stowaway in the bunker but this one is no apparent threat: she’s a cozily domestic wood nymph named Mrs. Butters who gives the boys a taste of all the holidays they missed before everything went to hell.
Supernatural‘s producers say the first episode back from hiatus needed to be lighter, because the rest of the season is going to be rough on the boys and on us fans.
