Untethered from Gravity…and Reality: 2025 Russian Space Thriller ‘Free Fall’ Finally Gets a US Release Date
In your darkest hour, can you trust the voice that tells you that it wants to help?
That’s the question that fuels Free Fall, a 2025 Russian space thriller that is finally getting a VOD in the United States. Free Fall is set on Earth in the near (?) future, where space has been colonized and a space station dubbed Delta orbits the planet. Everything is cool until one day, a repairman named Max (Alexander Kuznetsov) is blasted off his tether to the station while doing outside maintenance during a proton storm.

Even worse luck, he cracks the visor to his helmet, which means there isn’t much time to save him as he flies through the flotsam of space junk in the same orbit that has trapped him. He is assisted by a dispatcher named Anna (Anna Chipovskaya) who attempts to guide him safely back to the station. Or does she?
Free Fall was directed by Oleg Urazaykin from a script he wrote with Vladimir Stolbenko, and Alexey Medvedev. It was produced by Roman Borisevich for Plan 9.

Called the Russian take on the Sandra Bullock/George Clooney space thriller Gravity, Free Fall will be available to stream on Apple TV+ and Fandango at Home on October 27th.
