This is the way back to MandaloreFans of The Mandalorian have less than two days until the third season begins, and Monday, Disney released a trailer for the upcoming season showing Mando, aka Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), and his little green ward returning to this home world.

When season two of the popular Star Wars-adjacent show ended, Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, left to do some Jedi training maneuvers with young Luke Skywalker, but in the trailer, Grogu and Mando are back together again, as seen in Disney’s other series about intergalactic bounty hunters, The Book Of Boba Fett.

As for Mando, now that he has the Darksaber, he’s technically the leader of his home planet, but that planet was bombed by the galactic empire, leaving behind a shattered realm with few inhabitants. Mando is there, though, to redeem himself for breaking the code of his people, The Children of the Watch, when he took off his helmet in season two.

Din may have to fight off other contenders for the throne this season, including Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), who also wants to redeem herself and resume leadership, and Paz Vizsla (Jon Favreau), the descendant of Tarre Vizsla, who created the Darksaber.

Created by Favreau and Dave Filoni, the third season of The Mandalorian will also feature Carl Weathers as disgraced magistrate turned Bounty Hunters’ Guild agent Greef Karga, Giancarlo Esposito as the villainous Moff Gideon, Emily Swallow as the fellow Mandalorian known only as ‘The Armorer,’ and Amy Sedaris returns as mechanic Peli Motto.

Weathers will direct this season, as will Bryce Dallas Howard, Rachel Morrison (American Crime Story), Lee Isaac Chung (Minari), Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and Rick Famuyiwa (Dope). The show will once again be scored by Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson, who also wrote the scores for blockbuster films like Black Panther and Tenet.

Season three premieres Wednesday, March 1st on Disney+. Season four is not only guaranteed, according to Favreau, the scripts have already been written.
