Netflix is bringing vehicular accidents and murder houses to a screen near you soon.

In Bad Day, Cameron Diaz plays a mom trying to do a small favor for her daughter only to experience “the most devastating day she’s ever faced,” according to the movie description.

Bad Day is directed by Jake Szymanski (Jury Duty) from a script by Laura Solon. The stacked cast also includes Danielle Brooks, Rhenzy Feliz, John Higgins, Mark Duplass, Jessica Belkin, Ed O’Neill, Rob Corddry, Ayden Mayeri, Ben Schwartz, Retta, Emma Pearson, P.J. Byrne, Sherry Cola, Edi Patterson and Beck Bennett.

“I don’t want to give away too much,” Bad Day director Jake Szymanski told People magazine, “but Cameron gets hit by a car.”

This is Diaz’s second project for Netflix since coming back from a 10-year acting hiatus. She previously headlined the 2024 feature Back in Action with Jamie Foxx.

Bad Day will be available to stream on December 11th.

Two-time Emmy- winner (and now -nominated) Colman Domingo is the unlucky soul whose dream home becomes a nightmare in The Headlands House, now in development as a limited series at Netflix.

Written and executive produced by Cameron B. Dupont (Yellowjackets), The Headlands House is about a marriage that begins to fracture after a gay couple moves into their dream home, only to discover that the prior residents were brutally murdered there. And if the diminished property values weren’t bad enough, soon they find that their own lives may be in danger, too.

The Headlands House would be Domingo’s third series for Netflix. He headlined the 2024 limited series The Madness, and also stars in the comedy series The Four Seasons, which just garnered him a second Emmy nomination following the show’s second season. He was Oscar-nominated for the Netflix film Rustin, and also appeared in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and will be seen in the upcoming An Innocent Girl.

Netflix bought the distribution rights, but AMC will produce The Headlands House. The project is still in development, so casting and plot details have yet to be revealed. As of now, there is no premiere date.
